Recording
& Production Tips
The
following tips and techniques were put together based on our
experience and
research. We recognize that some of these tips and techniques
are common sense.
However, they can be easily forgotten in the excitement of going
to the studio. We will
be adding a few tips monthly, so check back each month for new
tips. We hope that
you find this information helpful.
Before
you go into the studio:
1.
Practice, rehearse, practice and rehearse...the more the better.
You don't want to
go into the studio unprepared for your recording
session. You're paying by the hour for
recording not practicing,
unless that's what you prefer to do. Remember time is
money.
2.
Do your own pre-production - Just simply record your self or
band on a tape
recorder/boom box. This is usually an easy
way to determine the weak parts of your
song, so you can improve/practice
before going into the studio.
Producing
a Song or Audio Project:
1.
If you want to produce your own song make sure to do your research
and understand all the elements that are involved in producing
a professional quality song. Understand the role of each
individuals/elements in the process and how to get the results
you are looking for. If you don't have the time to do
the research, seek the advice of a seasoned professional or
music consultant. Don't cut corners...you have to be in
it to win it.
